Bullseye Pistol League

The Precision Valley FG&A Pistol Team is one of five teams participating in the Winter Conventional Pistol ('Bullseye') League.  The other league teams are Burlington Gold, Burlington, Capitol and Manchester.  The PVFG&A Team meets weekly at our club's indoor range.  We then score and e-mail our individual and team scores to the league statistician, who compiles the league results.  Each week we are paired against one of the other teams.  The team score is determined by the highest four individual scores for that night.

Each match consists of team members shooting three targets.  Slow fire is 10 rounds fired in 10 minutes.  Timed fire is 2 strings of five shots fired in 20 seconds per string.  Rapid fire is 2 strings of 5 shots fired in 10 seconds per string. This league is conductly solely with .22 cal.pistols. Members use a variety of autoloaders- from Rugers to Hammerlis. Iron sights are fine, but 'red-dot' scopes are widely used.

The individual scores are based on the total score on all three targets.  A perfect score would be 300 points- not seen very often!  Still, PVFG&A has placed first in the league for the last few seasons and several individuals have received medals for placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their respective NRA classifications.  These are determined by scores submitted to the NRA.  The categories are 'Master', 'Expert', 'Sharpshooter', 'Marksman' and new shooters as 'unclassified'.  As of mid-season, our team remains undefeated in its league.

The league season runs from January through the end of March and consists of 12 matches.  New members and interested shooters are always welcome.

Meets Mondays from 5-7 p.m. at the indoor range on Reservoir Road
